I've been looking for the plug in my 2013 so I can connect my brake controller up and with the help of some of the threads in this forum I found the plug in the photo. Its the right shape but the wires dont quite match the harness that came with the tekonsha.

It's located just above and left of the clutch pedal. It has blue, black white with grey, green and another small blue. It appears if I connect here, the green wont be used.

I suspect the green is for some kind of illuminations that the Tekonsha doesn't used. Anyway, did I find the right plug or do I keep searching?

It looks like it to me, but I don't remember the color of the wires. I bought a pre-made tekonsha harness to plug in to the Tacoma. I just plugged it in, and went...

I will say this. It's the correct plug if you found it on the left wall of the cab, not on the firewall, and it was tucked behind where you couldn't see it.

It'll be held to the rest of the wire bundle with thin tape, if you tug it the tape will break free easily, and give you 6" or so of slack.

I think all the other unused connectors up there have caps in them and foam tape around them.

It's not really on the wall, but it is near and it is taped to a bunch of other wires with thin tape. And the harness i bought fits into the plug. I'm gonna give it a go.

update for anyone else finding this plug, it is the trailer brake control harness hookup.

I checked out the wire that sends a signal when the brake pedal switch is operated and I got 12v when the pedal was pressed. Brought the trailer home last night. All is well.

Yeah. They don't make it easy to find. I had to pull the little kick panel out to find the plug. Once I found it was all good. Now I just have to configure it to my trailer.

Found it. It was up above the left side kick plate between the side wall and the emergency brake pedal bracket. very difficult spot to access. Thanks to all the above posts I found it
