PickupTrucks.com is reporting Toyota working on Hybrid Truck.

"If a Prius pickup were developed, it would slot under the current Toyota Tacoma and not replace it because some truck buyers still have a need for a smaller truck with traditional truck capability"

    Im getting there......
na i think since it will not replace the tacoma it will probaby much more ultilitarian than the abat......this is because hybrid truck have little market for 'real' truck use based on the hybrid synergy system......little torque and power.....

thus i feel the truck will be a service/work truck probably similar in size to a first gen 2wd tacoma.....

this smaller a most likely cheaper offering will likely cater to those who want maximum economy and would not pay base price for a 4x4 tacoma......(as hybrids from toyota utilize awd).

Anyone else think this may replace the FJ Cruiser? Wikipedia's FJ sales history shows a rapid decline.

Toyota has a plan to offer a hybrid version in every model by 2020. They just unveiled a Prius station wagon today at the Detroit Auto Show. Toyota is also thinking of a small Prius pick up truck for the US market.

I predict gas prices will be between $5 to $7 a gallon in 2012
The U.S. is already using 40% less gasoline than in 1999, the law of supply and demand won't work anymore and bring down the prices, the dollar is losing value and other contries are using more and more gasoline, the ONLY way the prices will come down if the U.S does more domestic drilling.
The best alternative is using natural-LPG gas to fuel our vehicles, it also burns cleaner, but you do get less engine power, and it has problems in cold climates
