An International-Toyota hybrid?

Hey guys, I have a bit of a harebrained idea floating around, and it might be more suited to TTORA or Yotatech. I love old International Scouts. I REALLY love FJ40's, but in my part of the country they are damn expensive. So why not make something that's really my own?

What I have in mind is a 1960-65 Scout 80 or 1965-71 Scout 800/A/B body and frame and dropping a Toyota 22r or 22re and appropriate transmission into it. Scout's came with a base 4cyl engine that had less hp and torque than the 22re (pretty similar to the 22r I think), so this is by no means out of reality. Admittedly, it's odd. But why not use one of the best and most dependable engines ever created?

Here's the question for y'all. Would this setup work with a Dana 27 front axle and the Toyota transfer case?

Thanks guys!
