TRUCK TOPPERS AND INSURANCE

Does anyone know if you need to insure your topper, or if it is just covered by your existing insurance policy?

You probably want to look at your policy and check. Most policies I've ever had included some amount of aftermarket parts coverage (1K-3K in parts) if you had receipts.
You can also schedule the topper into your coverage (might bump your premium a few bucks) but that way you know it's covered.

 

Good to know, I might have to call my insurance company and find out what they do/don't cover as far as aftermarket stuff. Thanks for the info and good thread, OP.

 

GEICO increased my premiems by $6 a year to cover my shell.

 

State Farm covers everything as long as there are receipts. I originally called when I got my truck lifted and they told me to keep all of the receipts to show what was on the truck.
