    Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a 94 3.0l toyota pickup with 192,000kms. The first few days i had it I did not notice the problem. after sitting for a day or so i started it up and after about 10-15 seconds white smoke started coming from the tailpipe. Not alot my any means but it was definitley there. The smoke was white, not that thick and dicipated quickly. It has now happened to me twice and after letting the truck warm up to operating temperature it goes away even when revving the engine.

so far from what I can tell I am not loosing coolant, and i recently changed the oil and everything looked fine.

First off is this at all normal or the start of a problem? of course head gasketis in the back of my mind but what else could it be?

    thanks for your help

I bought an old S-10 that did this and burned oil, I changed the oil to Kendal and it all stopped. It's worth a try.

    White smoke=not oil.

Are you sure its not just condensation. what was the outside temp when this occured.

Also the 3.slow is notorious for blowing head gaskets.
