I have an 84 4x4 project truck and was looking for opinions. It's got a 22r that needs rebuilt anyways so I'm thinking 3rz swap instead of a rebuild. Anyone here done it? How hard was the wiring? Should I go with one with a distributor or coils? I'm not far from marlin crawler so I'll also be picking their brains also.

Curious as to why? 3rz make 150hp. My buddy works at a junk yard and says I can gets everything from the fuel tank to motor, harness, and ecu for around $1000, can't even hardly rebuild a 22r stock for that.

i'm thinking of swapping my 2rz motor into my 91 pick up as i need to do a timing chain in the 22re and the 2rz is running great and i have the tacoma to swap all necessary parts but need input as well.

So i'm interested in this thread as well..

Im putting a freshly rebuilt 22R, with Dual Row timing Chain mod, bored .020, mild cam and head ported. But I am also going to be running Propane. Otherwise I would go with a 22RE or the 2.7L
