You gotta see Diesel toys or diesel toyz the conversion would be the only thing i would trade a tacoma for is the turbo 3L tacoma that should be allowed to be sold in north america but the big three would lose all markets the engine is even cleaner north american standards

They built them off the 6th gen frames. Believe they use the 8" rear end, the 1kd 3.0 or the 1grfe are decent motors, and I have no reason to doubt they use a decent trans behind both, or at least similar to the tacos.

Unless you're talking about way far back. I don't think the current ones are much different from the new Tacomas, probably beefier if anything.

our current Hilux, think its 05-07 not sure. has a broken motor mount.... Its never been over 50KPH. and my truck ive jumped 100 times and have yet to break a motor mount... not to mention its a rattle trap. Just plain JUNK IMO. Im sure the frame it self is beefy and the engine will last.

I just like to kill everyones dreams. I dont know why everyone loves the damn hilux, most of those people have only heard rumors that they are better than the taco and never driven one.

Go look at the list for blown rear ends and broken motor mounts on TTORA. I'm also guessing it hasn't seen a very easy life.

Gotta love 18:1 compression on stock 1kd internals though.

HILUX MAX did a lot of great mods to his Hilux, but the base truck doesn't appear any better than a Taco. The front suspension appears identical to the Taco/4Runner/FJ. The frame appears to be fully boxed, which is stiffer but more susceptible to corrosion.

Is the Hilux available with A-Trac?
