    For sake of argument, we'll assume both choices are in good condition for age/mileage, 4x4, and well equipped.
    Would you choose a 2nd gen 4Runner (90-95) with 3.0 engine and low miles(<100K)

    A third generation 4Runner (96-02) with higher miles (150k+) a 3.4L v6 (an engine I'm familiar with)

    I'd take the 3rd...but i already have one...a 98 limited with almost 250,000 miles on it and no problems so far!:)

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    I voted 3rd. gen. The 3.4 is a MUCH better engine than the 3.0.

    I just think the plastic body molding on the bottom of the cab and the plastic fenders are ugly. If it weren't for them, I think I'd be ok.
