I have a 2011 trd double cab with a 4" tuff country suspension lift. I would like to know what are the biggest tires i can go with? I also need to know what rim size i should go with,i was thinking about staying with the stock rim size just buying a set of mickey thompsons. Please advise and thank you.

You could run the skinny 33"s (255/85/16 BFG KM2s) like I do with no problems on a stock rim.
The fat 33"s (285/75/16) would rub your UCAs on stock rims (you want 4.5" BS with that size) & you may or may not have to trim plastic in wheel wells and/or pound pinch weld and/or cab mount chop.

would a 285/70R17 fit? What would you recommend if I were to buy wheels.

Yes they would fit if you buy wheels with 4 1/2 backspacing.Tires are same as 285/75/16 thats what I run on a Pro Comp 3 inch suspension lift.I had to trim a little plastic on inside fender wells about 2 inches. If you got a 4inch lift you may not have to trim at all.

The lower the backspace measurment the farther they will "stick out"
