I just want Toyota to make them like they did with the 1985 SR5 4x4; better reliability, true adjustable seats and a solid front axle. Only this time, give us 4-link suspension and a 4 cyl turbo diesel like their foreign brother, the Hilux.

I'd like to see diesel engine option, more convenience options in the cab ie. Heated 6 way power seats heated mirrors. Toyota could drop some of the electronic gizmos and drop the price by 10k.

Anyway, just get me a fuckin 8 way w/memory seat. I'm so close to ripping my seat out, driving is no fun when you sit and fidgit with the seat. I had power seats once in a truck and loved it.
Oh well I guess I have to be happy with what I have.

Yeah okay a diesel motor would be a nice option for our truck. The thing that people seem to be forgetting is that diesel is no longer a cheap fuel these days. Its $4.30 in parts of Washington State, and is only going to get more expensive. I would rather just see toyota come out with their own version of the Ecoboost motor, or even better I'll just go with the 4 banger.

I spoke with Toyota customer service yesterday and the nice lady I talked to did inform me that there will be a complete redesign of the Tacoma this year new engines and all. She would not give specifics on a hybrid or a prerelease date but did say the 2014 Tacoma to be released Sep Oct this year will be all new.

fuel is about the same price, but with much better mpg. the new diesel cars that are coming out get better mpg than the hybrids. not to mention more torque. but hey, trucks don't need torque. :D

And a 4.0 oil burner will pull 30-40mpg in a Tacoma
More than makes up for the higher price.

Our local dealers ordering department claims September 6th is when the 2014's are available...that will be a happy/expensive day for me.

first time I've ever heard that. every other post I've ever read spoke of how much abuse they've taken and just keep going - it's apparent from the market they're designed for.

    The better coast
That truck looks like a facial reconstruction surgery gone wrong. There are tons other brands that can do everything you mentioned. Pretty sure you wasted a load with that one, go change your pants.

Wait, in one breath you say Toyota should drop the electronic gizmos then in the next breath you admit you cant adjust your seat without electronics.
