    2014 Toyota Tacoma Engine
The information we received that there will 2014 Toyota Tacoma V6 and 2.7 L in-line emapt cylinder with direct injection and variable-valve timing-head to produce up to 190 horsepower and 200 piund-rigid torque. The six-cylinder, we might see a downsize to a 3.5 L will also use a new head design that puts about 260 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. We might see a six-speed automatic transmission as well as manual and a boost in efficiency. The 2014 Toyota Tacoma should get a base two-wheel-drive four-cylinder approaching 30 miles per gallon, while the six-cylinder engine will be closer to 26 miles per gallon.
One of our spies to obtain information, the changes made 2014 Toyota Tacoma is pengenalaan Direct Injection engine. We do not know if this will be a V6 direct injection or a new direct injection 4.6-liter or 5.7 liter. Direct injection is another way to increase fuel efficiency, and it is estimated there will be a 5-10% increase in gas mileage with the introduction.
    2014 Toyota Tacoma Features
Changes made 2014 Toyota Tacoma features contained in the fuel tank is bigger, stylish and aggressive look than its predecessor, this change makes the customers become more enthusiastic. The concept is applied to the 2014 Toyota Tacoma done on the fuel, which serves to increase fuel economy by lowering the ride height that makes New Tacoma more aerodynamic. This will be done without lowering down to prevent too much ground clearance. We have also confirmed that the new dash is coming. The buttons are large will be back, but the layout of the dashboard will be modified. There will be new gauges and materials of better quality will be used.
Toyota has long been a fan of variable valve timing (VVT), today some engines that run on a variable valve lift system. We’ve heard rumors that it can also be used in Toyota Tacoma 2014. Hydraulic steering pump is gradually replaced by a more efficient electric motor, Toyota likes to be among the pace setters, we’d be surprised if it does not introduce a new product for the power steering. With most car weight reduction embrace technology, we expect Toyota to follow the modern trend of using high strength steel.

So if your going down the road and you loose steering for some reason, you will have no steering now. At least with hydro steering you have essintally manual steering.

same with electric steering. turn it off, manual steering, and it is even less heavy than
fluid power steering that has lost pressure or a belt.

steer-by-wire is not yet legal and proven...yet. it will be a few years for steer-by-wire, if at all

*welcome to jersey where our backwoods government still doesn't trust anyone to pump
this new fangled substance called gasoline...and we don't trust any left turns either

I have been waiting now for about 2 years to replace my '99 Taco 4x4 with promises of better fuel milege by way of a tech-advanced engine and drive train meanwhile when toyota is conteplaiting there corporate navels even when ther handed the midsize truck market on a silver plater by the Ranger being discontinued, Nissan can't seem to get out of there own way, Dakota's bloated body style and even worse fuel milege and Colorados inability to sell ther way out of a wet paper bag. We have a new player on the horizon the Volkswagen Amarok, soon to be imported into Canada with a 3.0 V6 TDI diesel engine w/8spd auto that would get 35+ mpg, that my friends is very tempting to some one looking to replace there ageing and loved pick up ute.:canada:

#1 - Yes, it has been posted before.... twice
#2 - The image is a 2013 HiLux... the truck available outside of North America
#3 - The author of that article has ZERO actual information on the 2014 Tacoma. The article is 100% assumptions and wishful thinking.
#4 - That article looks like it was taken from a local high school newspaper.

I spoke with Toyota customer service yesterday the nice lady I talked to did inform me that the new Tacoma will be complete redesign engines and all. She would not give specifics on a hybrid or a prerelease date, but confirmed that when the 2014 tacoma comes out in Sept Oct of this year it will be an all new redesigned truck.

We fly by wire everyday. Airbus is joystick controlled. Why not steer by wire?

You'll have to forgive us if we don't believe your four cut-and-paste posts.

WHO and what Toyota "customer service" office?
You're talking bullshit. NOBODY at Toyota is authorized to release any information to ANYONE until after the press releases.

Exactly!!! I work on the assembly line at TMMTX building Tacomas and Tundras and have heard NOTHING on a new or 3rd Gen Tacoma. When there is a model change it affects a ton of things including manufacturing. Don't you think the people who build them would need to know of a change? The logistics for a change are massive. Tooling, stamping, assembly procedures, etc. Changes can take a year or more to prepare for. Then you have to train all the workers on these changes. Customer Service Reps are going to tell you what you want to hear. I laugh everytime I hear these rumors and tall tales.

Dirty mike! Real deal. I called the 1800 number on the toyota website and explained that I understood that she would not be able to tell me about a redesign, but could she at least tell me about when we will know what the 2014 will look like as they have already released the tundra. She put me on hold, and came back with the opposite. She told me a new redesign, but would not tell be the release date. I said, ' new motors and all' and she said yes. I have been waiting for this for awhile.

    Vehicle:
    18’ F150 SCREW LB 3.5 EcoBoost
    Bilstein 5100’s (x4), 275/65/20 Cooper XLT AT3’s
You'll be waiting just a bit longer my friend....

A complete redesign along with engine's would be a major change and would have been talked about prior to their release.

The person she talked to was probably a TW member and wanted have a little fun with you
