Saw these two beauts sitting in the yard this afternoon when I got on shift. Fully armored and returning from Afghanistan.

I do have detailed photos of the interior armored shell and exterior features as well.
I did a little research and found out that these are Hutchinson "Rock Monster" bead lock wheels. Totally badass

Totally badass but they're 5 lug only and they weigh close to 50 lbs each

Honestly, i couldn't tell you. My guess is the Defense Department. There are certain units in the Army that all they would have to do is place an order for a vehicle with whatever specs they wanted, and they would get it. Not entirely sure if that's true or not.

I've been out here just over a month and I can't believe how many Toyota's are out here!

I was surprised how small the Helix's really are...but then again, I just saw a Tacoma out here (for the first time) and it seemed small too. I suppose I'm getting used to seeing all the large Army vehicles and the uparmoured Toyota SUV's. lol

If you get a chance, take some photos of what you see. Always looking for some more 3rd worldly Toyota's.

Love,
Pikachu

Love them Wagons. Wish I had the chance to drive one when I was over there. Saw a lot of the Wagons uparmored too, compared to the usual Land Cruisers you see.

Actually those Ford Expeditions in the back look pretty cool too.

Here we go. These were outbound at the base last year a few months before I deployed to Afghanistan. Fell in love with them, even for them being a Ford. But it's got the special name "WAMAR" on the side. Cool as shit though.

I know that's a HiLux. But where the bumpers came from . . . . I probably should have asked around. The Army drove this truck a lot and I was used to seeing ARB bumpers on the newer models.
