This weekend, I'll be installing new 1/2 shafts, maybe front bearings, replacing the two windshield washer pumps, Installing a dash kit for the loose stereo in it, and cleaning the inside thoroughly. It's got a minor oil leak somewhere up front. Once spring rolls around, I'll degrease the engine to see where it's coming from. The 1/2 shafts are my main concern for now.

Looks like a good sturdy ride. 4Runners are good and solid, my wife drives one. No major problems yet (160,000 miles)

Mysterious horn between air box and brake booster

I think these are the "yelp/wail" switch and the "airhorn" button
    [IMG]
The switches don't work, but all the hardware is there. There are also marks on the roof from a magnet mounted light or antenna.

Good to see you again, don't care what you drive, glad it's a toy, keep your chin up, things will get better.

I just sold my 92 4 Runner about a year ago, it was a good dependable ride and I wish my 08 Tacoma had the build quality it had

The only thing I didn't care for was having to drop the skid plate to get at the oil filter but even there Toyota made it easy with some fore thought because they put clips on it so it would hold the back end up while taking the bolts out of the front.

Don't forget to do a search and make sure it had the steering arm replaced, they were recalled for that several years ago, oh and they have timing belts that are supposed to get replaced every 50,000 or so.

Yeah, I removed all the stickers though.
I paid $2300. So far, I've replaced both cv axles, the front shocks, and the washer fluid pumps. It still needs an allignment, a new windshield, and some tires would be nice. It leaks a little oil, but nothing severe. A $10 gasket set for the oil cooler and some bloody knuckles would take care of most of the leaking oil. It is a work in progress.

How are the 3rd gen 4runners soft:p? My brother has a 3rd gen 4runner with the 3.4 v6 and it is awesome and the 2nd and 3rd gen 4runners are almost identical appearance wise. Thats a great looking 4runner especially for its age:D.
