I am trying to replace the horn on my 2011 Taco. ( Sounds like the horn on my 4 yr. olds toy car ) . The connection does not fit any of the horns i've seen in the stores . Do I have to cut the wire to my horn and install some kind of adaptor , And if so are there adaptor kits avail ? Thanks .

It would be very easy to install another connector. There are many plugs available at auto part stores and shouldn't cost much. I cut mine and split the connection from the button to a switch and installed an additional horn. I also needed to change the plug. That way I could choose between factory and aftermarket. I was also tired of hearing the wimpy factory horn so I installed a set of dual 22 inch long horns. They were too loud most of the time so I needed to be able to switch back to factory.

????? Any time I am using the horn, it is with the intention of being heard and it can't be too loud. The only exception might be when giving a couple of toots before backing out of a service bay... which happens practically never.

I use the phone, or walk up to the door when picking someone up.
