I'm not sure where to post this so I'm hoping I chose the right forum.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy a new Tacoma now, which I really need to get rid of my truck before I get too many more miles on it or I just found out that there is a new Tacoma coming out in 2015. Should I wait for the new body style?

Does anyone know anything about the new style coming?

Welcome, Brandy. Buy the cheapest new one on the lot. I don't care what color. If you need the truck now, just do it.

Sorry, never saw the 08. Thought you had a Ford. Never mind.

I bet you couldn't put another 200k on that truck in the next 10 years.

Highway miles are the best miles, I'm happy to not want debt more than wanting new things, to me 134K and 6 years is young, I'll keep my '05 another 10+ years.

Wait until you know for sure it's a 3rd generation, I can't imagine a '14 is gonna feel any different than your '08.

Yeah keep what you have. Don't be one of those people that thinks 150k miles on any vehicle means it's old. As a dealer looking to buy, I love those people who think their vehicle is worthless because it has over 100k miles. 134k miles on most vehicles isn't that much, especially for a tacoma.

Save your money and wait till you actually need a truck. If the regular maintenance has been done especially timming belt, then you should be good to go another 100k at least.

If your wanting a new truck just to have a "NEW" vehicle and your worried about trade in value or resale value of your current truck then that's your call. Personally your 2008 model compared to a 2014 model isn't that big of a difference IMO. If Toyota had come out with a new body style (3rd gen) then getting a new truck would be more justified.

I totally agree with the guy above me, that truck will not break down if properly maintained. If I were you I'd just keep it especially since you're driving that much gas must be worse than a car payment with that many miles per month

Great advice! Yes, I maintain it. You're right the 14 looks no different. Being single I worry about being stranded on the side of the road, and not trusting my taco the way I should, I worry with high miles comes problems. But I've taken very good care of my truck. Thanks for the help. ;)

Nice! I didn't know the 05+ V6 motors had chains, I thought all the v6's had belts. Well that's good news for you OP!
