I know this is a "Tacoma" forum, but if you drive a Tacoma, you obviously know about Toyotas. & you guys are awesome.

I was wondering if anyone knows a roundabout average mpg that the 2.4L 22RE is supposed to get?

It's also got a rough idle, kinda like a v8 and the exhaust pops when you let off the gas, like some v8s do. lol, I think my truck is confused.

    There's something wrong there... lol
my buddies got an 88 with the 22r with over 200k on it and it runs better than my 22re. nothing beats the 20r though. they were probably one of the strongest engines toyota builds.

I know this has nothing to do with the MPG thread that I posted earlier, but anybody know if a regular tailgate from the 84-88 pick'em ups will fit the 4runner? My window motor siezed and I just took the back window out and was wondering, well.. if the regular tailgate would fit it.
