    Ladies and Gentlemen:

As you all probably already know, I am a strong advocate for a reliable turbo diesel engine. I have experience with their power, economy, and durability among many other wonderful attirbutes. The below online petition is for the choice of a diesel engine in the Toyota vehicles that are now sold in the United States.

If you would like the choice of a diesel engine in your next Toyota, please sign this petition (600 signatures as of this post)...

    http://www.petitiononline.com/TOYD4D/

FYI - Chevy, Ford, and Dodge will be offering a diesel engine option in their 1/2 ton trucks and SUVs starting in 2009. Honda will have a 2.2L i-CTDi (turbo diesel) Accord available in 2009. Nissan will have a 2.5L Renault turbo diesel available in the Nissan Altima in 2009 (rumor is that this will be a fairly easy conversion to the Frontier). Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, and Audi will all have one if not almost all of the vehicles in their fleet available with a diesel engine middle to late 2008. Even BMW is talking about bringing a diesel engine to the United States in 2010.

Toyota is only now considering (with no official confirmation) a diesel HD Tundra. Toyota diesel engines run the world over outside of North America. Toyota needs to step up to the plate. Give us some diesel options!

Some of this information has changed...

Also, Toyota is planning on releasing a diesel Tundra and Seqouia.

    Just as a note:

I am researching putting a 3.0L Toyota Turbo diesel into my 2007 Tacoma as soon as it is paid off. For more information on Tacoma/Toyota diesel conversions, check out http://www.dieseltoyz.com/

Wait. Are you selling it, or the person you sold it to selling it?

That truck is exactly what I want!!! Too bad I have to buy a house before I can get a DieselToy. :(

I know a lot of you won't belive me but at work we have Toyota diesel tractors. They are about the size of a golf cart (lenght and width) but weigh over 8,000 lbs! They have a 4cyl not sure of displacement but they are bulletproof. They are the tractor of choice at work. They are used and abused and don't miss a beat. I have personally pulled over 28,000 lbs with them. I understand these are a different breed from what would be used in a Tundra or Taco but from personal experince I would buy one in a heartbeat. I will try to take some pics at work and share them with everyone.

I would love a I-4 diesel, the torque is amazing, and I don't know maybe I am a little hard core... but... I love the sound, especially under load, the bed is full of gear, tools, whatever, and up comes a nice hill, downshift and and pour on the torque, brings a smile to my face !!

Hey Mark (007). What other intel do you have on Toyota Diesels? I'm desperate for one. Direct me to some good reads on them and why they haven't made it to North America yet. This is ticking me off :boom:.
