I read the Truck trends review and all i can say is I WANT ONE NOW!!!
Only thing is i don't have the $40,000 nor could I afford the payments! Im not sure if expensive off road ready SUV's are going to sell well these days??? But I love the Toyota is keeping 4runner true to its heritage.

Sweet, I might have to trade in the ole Taco for somethin like that. Now if they could have kept the FJ a little narrower and more of the original size...

If that new 4runner came with a 4 banger with a manual trans and trail equipped with the locker I would trade in the Taco...maybe!!!

On the Toyota.com site it states this 4.0 has 270 Hp and 278 lb. Tq...and a turning radius of 37.4 turning radius comapred to our Taco 20 something and the FJ's is around 40 or 41....hmmmm, getting more and more tempted.

Except my get's the next new car...or maybe 4 runner....gotta talk her into it...

So, given the body style and 4WD system, what can we expect from the new Tacoma??? I would assume they would share very similiar styling.

I saw them the other day over at expo. They sure look a lot better. I would almost think that there is truth to them phasing-out the FJ Cruiser next year by the looks of the new 4Runner.

Already got ny wife interested in this new 4 runner. The only problen I see is that the trail edition does not have the optional 3rd seat. Which we would need sometimes. I am anxious to see if the third seat is just a slide in rail kind of deal, and the trail just doesn't show it as an option. You can trick out the sr5 version pretty well if it is not available. The limited edition is a little ghetto for my liking, 20" rims and a little to gaudy. Excited to drive one though. Can't wait to get rid of the wifes mini van for this!!!

They have the "Build Your 4Runner" up at Toyota.com. Not cheap thats for sure. The Trail Edition is only available in 2 colors, black or gray.

One of my friends works for toyota who has had the new 4R black sr5 for the past week (doesn't go on sale until the 16th for hawaii). I saw him last night and went for a test drive. First impression is I love it! Interior is very nice. Seats are comfortable, dash layout nice, usb port in glove box is cool, auto up/down for all windows. Party mode feature is pretty dope!

Engine performance is great. When the rpms get around 4k you feel the new vvti kick in, and it sort of pulls you back into the seat. Much better then the previous 4.0, and I have supercharged 4.0 and it impressed me. This new 4.0 is nice! No more engine ticking which is awesome. Oil filter has been located to the center of the motor in front of the oil pan very easy to change the filter. Just remove the skid plate and full access. Truck only has 110 miles on it and we're flooring it around, and its currently getting only 13mpg lol
When you pound it the engine sounds more healthy almost v8 sounding. Sounds better then the current 4.0 in the tacoma
