I like it. My wife is dead set on the new Highlander.....I'm trying to convince her that a 4Runner would be more well-rounded and better suit our needs.

On the toyota site the upper console shows quite a few switches and what may be blanks. Looks good. I hated the first few spy pics that came out before the official release. The trail edition looks better. No chrome accents. Only two color options for the trail? Black and silver. They should have a couple more or a unique color not offered in the other trim levels.

    yeah that
A highlander is just as bad as a minivan. That slide out tray thing in the new 4runner is cool, not sure what I'd use it for though.

Just got the new FOUR WHEELER magazine. There is a 3 page write up on the new 4runner taking on the Rubicon! They were literally jerking off over the truck, they loved it.

Going to get my wife one next year after we turn in the leased minivan. Trail Edition is pretty sweet looking. Not a big fan of the limited, the 20" rims are kind of low riderish.

Check out this video from the article. The guy driving the 4runner is chief engineer for toyota, came here from Japan to drive the truck on the Rubicon. They did these tests last summer. Couldn't find the article on the website yet, but I bet it will be up soon. I can scan and post it if anyone likes...

You can certainly tell those are prototypes.

In the Nov. issue of 4 Wheel & Offroad they have a semi-local ORP (Rocks & Valleys) and Drummond Island in the Ultimate Adventure. Both places are awesome!!

I would suspect it follows suit as well. From reading the article, I think they dropped the v8 all together on the 4runner.

Just saw it (2010 4Runner) at the State Fair of Texas yesterday. There were 2 of them, a nice primo black one and another one that was taken to Moab. According to the sign that was there, the 2010 4Runner was tested out to see if it could survive. I have to say that the only non-stock items were some 4xInnovation rock sliders and some bigger tires. It was beaten to $hit but a little bit of duck tape helped out on the looks.

    Its a bicycle.
Tony Divino happened to get 3 the other day...

I pulled a fierce U-turn, drove up into the lot... and was promptly treated like shit and ignored... good times... usual times.

but anyhoo, I still looked through them. cold stares and all.

seems they had to give them back. pity. LMAO...

god, these things are good looking, i cant wait for the next gen Taco!

Well I like to revive threads. So tonight during the wee hours of the AM on my way home from work I swing by a local dealer, thought I saw a 2010 Brokeback mountain edition taco but it was a used one. The lot was pretty bare with the recalls and lack of sales...drive a bit farther and what do I see...thats right....

2010 Trail Edition in what looks like Mag Gray...

Walk up to it, look at the sticker and sure enough, mag gray TE with the KDSS(not sure I know what this is for). Thought the TE was pretty rare let alone in mag gray.
Awesome up close. I don't know if I would want one more than my Tacoma due to what I plan to use the taco for let alone the cost...sticker was just over 38K. Kinda bummed when I checked out my bank's vehicle configurator which is usually very good about discounts. This time they are right on with the sticker.

Oh well, nice to day dream a little bit. The payments would kill me but it is a damn nice SUV.
