I'd love to say that I'd keep it forever - but I'd be lying.

There's always a newer tacoma around the corner with all the bells & whistles and neat stuff that I gotta have. I'm spoiling myself as I get older. ;)

Maybe I'll wait and see what the next generation tacoma's are like and go from there.

I was trying to hold out until 2014 (one year after the possible 2013 redesign of the Tacoma), but I was losing confidence in my 2001 Galant for long distance trips. So I pulled the trigger and took delivery about a week ago on a 2010 Tacoma.

I really wanted a more fuel-efficient model, and even considered the A-BAT concept before Toyota put in on hold when the world economy tanked. Hopefully the A-BAT be reconsidered after sustained economic recovery. One thing, though. The A-BAT was supposed to take Toyota back to its compact truck roots. And I like the mid-size Taco quite a bit.

I'm keeping my Galant for in-city travel so that I can keep my miles off the Taco for a possible trade-in in 2014. The Galant's also a V6, pretty sporty with good tires, and it gives me a different driving experience-- probably something like the previous posters said about wanting to get a WRX. I really wanted a G37, but it wasn't practical. I like to do things around the house myself, and I couldn't fit a water heater or toilet in a sports car.

    I love my Tacoma.

I just paid mine off so I will probably be keeping it for a long time. Maybe when the new redesigned Tacoma comes out I will reconsider.

I'm selling the old tacoma to the insurance company tomorrow. Rolled it during some freak early winter here. Then buying a new to me 04 TRD off road friday or monday, whenever the insurance check clears.

Whenever I'm ready for a new one I will asses the line-up of currently available vehicles and make a decision based on what's available then.

I would love to keep it and buy a new Tacoma, but I'm afraid of buying a new one cause they don't seem to be built as rock solid as my 01 (from reading 2nd gen posts, no offense to anyone)

They say Toyota does not loose its value, so I am holding onto my silver monster. Plus too many mods in the near future. Its still a pup, not even broken 30k yet in 4 yr's.

Keeping mine forever. I'll drive it until it would cost more in parts to fix it than its actually worth. My kids may drive it someday. After the truck is completely dead I'll probably move up to a f250 or something along that line.
