New Winch Results Stuck In Mud 88 Yota

Hi we took the yota out after getting my new ramsey winch installed and sure enough got into some bad mud the kinda mud thats in a pound thats been full of water for awhile and just went down any way as soon as we hit it we was stuck 2x4 4x4 there was no getting out so i used my which and and hooked onto a small tree and started whiching out then the winch clutch started slipping this is a brand new 8500lb ramesy so i was wondering is this normal like a safety opition or is there something wrong with the winch? i searched online and found nothing about them slipping any ideas.

Yeah the winch only wanted to wind up all on one side so we had to winch it then i hold the brake buddy backs off the winch and respolled it the right way and start the process over again it was time consuming but it worked. Is there any way to make these spool right? my 4 wheeler has a winch and it has the same problem unless the 4wheeler is winching string in front then it wants to spool up on what ever side your winch is pulling to.

To save strain on the winch and on your battery and alternator. Use a strap and a block, and run your winch line out to the block then back to the front bumper. It doubles your pulling power.

P.S. After you winch your self out you almost always have to respool the line to make it wind up correctly.

Well used it today to get unstuck this time we hooked it to my cus's truck right in front of me and it started pulling then it just started spining on the inside the POS winch screwed up and i thought ramsey was one of the best winchs! This one sucked and it was screwy fromt he first time useing it i know it wasnt the way i used it cause it wasnt that much of a load on it. Im going to get out the warrenty card and call ramsey tommarow lucky for me there in tulsa ok which is only 90 mile drive from me and i will be seeing about getting a replacement or this one fixed cause i belive it was a defective winch from the start!. Now i bought this brand new from another person it was still sealed in the box never used but im not going to tell ramsey this cause they might try and pull a fast one and says its not coverd. So what would a good online store that sales these which i could tell ramsey where i bought it from? I dont know if i could say i bought it off ebay or not would that work?

and thats a dam good idea YotaDan i never thought of that. if i get another one i will sure start useing that method

Did you even bother to read the link I provided? If you were stuck as bad as you make it out to be and doing a straight pull you most likely exceeded the winches capabilitiy and therefore voided the warranty.

Please educate yourself with regards to you equipent and NO TW will not help you defraud a company due to your negligence.
