Well, the 7.62 x 54 R is a soviet round. Some speculate as to weather or not they are corosive. I belive the "R" designates mill surp. What am I missing?

It's 308 in diameter like the 762 NATO (the bullet) but the case is longer 54mm as to the NATO's 51mm lenght and th "R" is a refrence to the case head being rimmed. The case dementions (taper and shoulder) are also different.

Some are corrosive some are not it depends on who made it. The Corrosives stuff has a longer shelf life in adverse conditions.

It's mostly used in the Nagant's and currently in the Dragonove type sniper rifles.

I'll have personalized plates in a week or so--FAT DOG--they were my Mom's, but she signed the name over to me and is paying for them because her boyfriend objected to them, and she didn't really want to fight with him, but didn't want to lose them entirely either. Long story, but basically a memorial to her very fat dog, now deceased, and my first dog, the original very fat dog, also deceased. Most people think its a reference to a Harley though. Apparently, she couldn't seem to convince the boyfriend that people didn't think that they refered to him.
