Afghan Hilux

Here is a couple Hilux's from Afghanistan. The spare tire location is handy and provides some cover. IMO the stock Hilux configuration is much less capable than the Tacoma. I had them in Africa and now here, but have never been impressed.

Sure wish the Tacoma came with an option for a DShk. May need the background check and tax stamp first though.

Down here all they have is the Hilux and Ford Ranger. Seems like I saw some Tacomas over in the East a couple years ago, but couldnt find the photo.

From what I'v seen the Rangers are very capiable. I have watched humvees get hung up following the rangers off road several times.

I agree the Rangers do seem like a good light pickup. We had some B6 Hilux's and they couldn't go anywhere. The B6 Land Cruisers are terrible as well, but better than the Hilux. What you need is one of these Jeep smuggling wagons we see over here on the Iran border a lot.

I have seen the ODA Taco's and I even had a 1st Gen back in 2010.
