I have a 2012 Tacoma. The battery charging light flashes when I depress the accelerator. Is the a sign of my alternator going bad.

A charging light indicates the miss-match of voltage between the alternator and the battery. It could be caused something as simple as a loose alternator belt or corroded/loose battery terminal cable. If not, most stores that sell car batteries will test the battery and charging system for free.
