need to know: does the OME lift change alignment specs?

i was at firestone on Barksdale AFB, after 4 and a half hours for an alignment (life-time, only way to buy) they said that my caster was .4* out of alignment.
I told them that with my OME lift, top spacers and Light Racing UCA's my alignment will spec on the alignment machine.

the shop lead said' "Because of your 3in lift, factory spec will not work-even if we spec it, we can not guaranty the alignment. Adding or removing height will cause the factory lift specs to be incorrect."

i tried to tell them that with the UCA's and the lift that you can indeed spec the alignment to factory standards and that is more than fine.

he asked for toytec to send him a letter telling him if there were "different" specs for the lift.

If you would, please send a fax to firestone of Barksdale's store manager, Joel Jackson a letter showing him he is wrong.

thanks 20k on the lift and no issues

Murphy

I don't think those are "different" Those are the stock specs IIRC. Without the UCAs you might have trouble getting to those specs- but with them- There should be nothing preventing you from getting the right specs.

Do you have the specs they DID get for you??

firestone of barksdale AFB is saying that with a lift they will not garrenty the lifetime alignment...

ome 3" with LR UCA's this is bull and this isnt the first time appearantly. some others on base say they are screwing with trucks with lifts.

And were the adjustments made or were they just thrown on?? Those Firestone guys get paid by the job...So they make 40 bucks for every alignment....if your alignment takes 4 hours- They are going to get to a point where they aren't going to try very hard any more.

The LR UCA's have a additional 2 degrees of caster built in and they are also adjustable 2 degrees in either direction. Your alignment guy should be able to set it pretty much where ever he wants. The specs we recommend are

Camber: 0 degrees
Toe in: 0.04 degrees
Caster is the 2.4-3.1 degrees

Which way is the caster out of spec?

i put them on and i put the flat edge towards the rear adn did the ol roll the truck back with the top nut loose... then had an alignment 6 months ago.

got new tires and now firestone is being a turd.

toytec lifts- i love the set up and i have told them that the control arms work, they just did shabby work..

found my alignment sheet
camber
.9* 0.0 .9*
caster
2.1* (-.9*) 2.8*
toe
-.01* .02*
