Get me level?
 
So, I purchased the Eibach/5100 setup that was over on swap and am getting ready to install.

I have the 5100s on the second ring and the springs are the 1.5".. According to the tech guy I spoke to on the phone when I was setting up the front, he said that should get me right at 3" total up front.

My question is which AAL setup is going to get me level? I do haul an enclosed Haulmark from time to time with a couple bikes.. Eventually I will get bags, but for now, I just want level.

I would recommend measuring first though. You may just need a 1inch block

So, I called Toytec and they recommended the 1.5 AAL for the rear.. Ordered it up and installed... well, I am pretty bummed as now my truck sits with a rake..
So, I will ask this once again. What is it going to take to get this Taco to sit level? Should I move the C clip up to the THIRD ring, or add a spacer?
New Taco owner needing help here and pretty frustrated at the moment!

Update your info so we know what truck you have, although I'm guessing 2nd gen. There's a big difference between 1st and 2nd gen Eibachs . Is the front higher or lower?

Thats what I was thinking, but to be honest the front is considerably lower.. I was hoping to get the front up where the rear is now..http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ps98d39194.jpg

I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you're supposed to go up to the third setting on the 5100s if your're running the eibach coils.

If you still have rake after the aal settles, toytec has front spacers in a bunch of different sizes.

Thats what I had initially set them to (as I only wanted to do this instal ONE time), but when I called Toytec to confirm, the rep said "2nd will get you level", so I dropped back and now hate the thought of taking this all apart.. AGAIN.. :confused:

This is correct, do not over compress these springs

You're right. The second setting is as high as you should go.

So, basically I am going to need to put a spacer on top of my Eibachs and leave the c clip at the 2nd setting?
I am just looking for a TRUE and even 3" of lift.

You should let the rear settle first. Try haulling a heavy load around for a week. Did you take any measurements to determine the height difference?

Haven't pulled measurements yet, figured I would let it settle out a bit.. But as it sits right now, can see I want the front higher.. Had a spacer lift in before, was hoping for another 1" of height out of this front setup.. that didn't happen.

Just as a side note - I didn't really get as much out of these coils as I thought I would either. I'm running my 5100s at the 0" setting with the same eibach coils and only got about 1.1". The estimate was about 1.5" with this setup, and after little research, that is in fact what most people on these forums got as well. No idea why I got less. I don't have any added weight in the front either (plate bumpers, etc.). :confused:

My truck is pretty much the same as yours, 4x4 access cab.

In my case, it doesn't really bother me (yet) because I wasn't after a whole lot of lift, but I understand your frustration. It's disconcerting to be the guy with the same same parts, same truck, but different end result.

If you adding spacers to the top of the strut would be the easiest option for you now, and not huge spacers , I think the front seems low because the rear is high let it settle and see how it is then

22 front, 25.5 in the rear is what my truck measures at now. Center of hub to wheel well.

Yep, when I ordered the AAL, the tech told me the 1.5 is what I needed.
I guess I need to read a lot more here.. so many threads to weed through! Figured calling Toytec woulda fixed me up first go around.. live and learn I suppose:rolleyes:

I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. When I put 5100's at 2.5" on my Tundra it initially gave me over 4" of lift. It took roughly a week to settle down.

i just installed this same set up yesterday, after taking it off road abit today i measure 22.5 in the front and 24 in the back. i have 5100 front and rears, did you go with the 5100 rear?

maybe post photos of the shock themselves, did you put them together or did a shop do it?
