Going back to Kauai and am pretty familiar with the island. However, we cant get a flight out from Lihue so we are going to Honolulu for one night. Does anybody have any ideas on what is a must see that is quick since we will only be in Honolulu for really one full day? Thanks!

thats a hard one. i was gonna suggest some spots up @ northshore but i dont want you spending most of your time driving since you only got one day. if you like the ocean theres haunama bay, waikiki beach (rent a surf board or kayak or something), check out different restaurants, i think its called the international market?? haha i've lived here all my life and still dont know what that place is called. but definatly check out the strip.

If you do decide to run up north shore its gonna be packed this time of year, surf season and contest. be prepared to spend most of the day in traffic. This is probably one of the biggest reasons we no like tourist. If not check out hawaii kai get shark tours. if you like hiking go daimond head but das one whole day event. You could always go pearl harbor too.

If your going to head up to the NS you might want to stop by the Dole plantation it is on the way up.

Thanks for all of the responses! I think the plan is to hit up the USS Arizona, etc. in the morning and maybe hike the diamond head trail after. Then hopefully have time to head up to the the north shore since our flight isn't until 11:50pm:eek:

Get to the Az memorial as early as possible. They hand out tickets and it is first come first served.

Lots of things to see while waiting to head over.
The Missouri (sp) is close as well and it is worth the trip over the bridge to get to see it.

Great stuff to visit very moving!!

I was there on my Honeymoon, I suggest that you do Pearl harbour then head over to waikiki beach. There's a lot of shops around too.

That sound like a good plan...get to Pearl Harbor early. Diamond head is cool, not too bad of a hike.
