It could all depend on what yall enjoy doing. something outdoors? historical? The bed and breakfast thing sounds like a good idea, thats are always neat.

Outter Banks?.....Although, that area is probably more enjoyable in the warmer months. I've been there in April.....it was a bit cold yet peaceful (no crowds) and the rentals are cheaper. Drives on the beach...look for the horses, that kinda thing.

Its a lil cold for outdoor stuff unless you got a cabin in the woods somewhere near a ski resort. Thats always fun.

Bring her down here to Destin, Ft. Walton Beach. Beautiful here and all the oil is gone. I live on Navarre Beach which is close to Pensacola Beach. Stretches of untouched beach here. White powder sand, tons of great places to eat. Its cheap also. Since the oil spill and people didnt come down for the season alot of condo owners are suffering and renting out CHEAP. GOOD LUCK!
