    Why? He doesn't have an old oil burning truck. I have 140,000 on my 2005 & never need to add oil, except when I do the oil change.

    an IPOD an a bottle of water and something that is easy to munch on is about all i take besides clothes. when the car/truck runs out of gas, stop for fuel, restroom and a quick bite to eat. rinse and repeat.

    i don't use gps, i print out a google map w/ directions and go. quick little funny story...coming back from SC, they had a big sign up in NC that said, don't use your GPS, it'll take you down a road that is closed due to rock slides. however, my google directions sent me around the rockslide.

    on trips longer than 10 hours, a co driver is a nice thing to have.

    if you have a double din bring some funny dvd's. other that that..

    snacks
    ipod's/music and lots of it
    drink cooler in the box under the slider so someone in the back can get at it.
    def a radar detector.
    depending on how long the trip is you might wanna think of doing an oil change before hand.

    if you get bored think of games to play in traffic. my friend made up a game where we would come up along a semi and signal that one of his tires was blown out and they would pull over. in an hour and a half drive he got 13 to pull over lol

    thats all for now

    I actually carry a flashlight and a Swiss Army knife as well. I also have an emergency road kit with jumper cables. I wanna get a lid so I can lock stuff in the back like some tools and a jack. The stock jack in my '04 is a bitch to get out. Ya gotta have elf size hands to reach in that damn compartment.

    Seams like you got everything you need for a great road trip. Quick advise stay away from 18 wheelers. And realize that most 18 wheelers out on the road now a days are governed at about 65mph. So if your doing 65 and the truck next to you is doing 65...your going to be next to him for a long time. Do him the favor and speed up.

    haha maybe i'll have to pick up some nudie mags, and as for the machette... I got a bowie knife that would crocodile dundee's to shame. Bakerla, I have grown up on the water my entire life, and will be spending 3 months at sea this summer. Really don't want to do the whole beach thing for spring break. So tennessee has hiking, white water rafting, cheap awesome cabins, and just general redneck stuff also! I'll be sure to post pics of my trip, and my taco with gorgeous scenery behind it of course!!

    water, lysol spray for toliet seats the women will really appreciate that, already made sand wiches (I recommend using condiment packages easy clean up don't have to carry a musard or may bottle) walkie talkies where a cool idea helps pass the time, grocery bags for trash. chips, granola bars, etc. You know small eatables. book, psp, etc. things that help pass the time. Rotate drivers. Oh and speeding only shortens your arrival time by 10min. so don't do it you will only waste more gas and run the risk of getting a ticket. gun, knife, you never know.

    about 100.00 in singles, because when 5 guys get together you always end up at a strip club.

    The two way radios really help (bring the charger so you can charge them for the return trip!) Chargers for the cell phones (car and wall adapters) Sirius radio set on the comedy channels! Might need an adapter to multiply the number of power outlets.
    Cheez-its. Good pair of sunglasses.
    Run a can of seafoam through the gas tank.
