Taking a Vacation to Tennessee! Family wants to see snow, I have questions.

Ok so like I said my family wants to go back to Tenn. for vacation. They want to see some snow and christmas lights. We were thinking around Thanksgiving or my Daughters christmas break. We are wanting to go to Pigeon Forge, which is where we stayed the last time we vacationed there.
My question is which of these times would be the best for seeing snow and lights? As well as what else should I do to prepare myself and vehicle for this, I have only seen snow twice here in Louisiana and a few times in Texas but we didn't drive in it, because they canceled work due to it.

I can't say for east TN, their weather can be pretty different than ours. Hopefully someone from that area will chime in.

 

There will be almost no snow around Thanksgiving. I would push this to either christmas or after the new year. Winter lights stay up until later in the new year and mountains get nice and white then.

 

Anytime between Thanksgiving n Christmas is a great time to see lights and everything all decorated. Snow is kinda iffy here, I dunno about the higher elevations, but we only get snow after Christmas down in the valley.

 

Thanks for the info guys. Can't really push the vacation back any as I have to share my daughter with her mother. And we all finally found a time that everyones work would agree on.

 

If you stay in the mountains, http://www.gatlinburg.com/default.asp, you may/may not get to see real snow, but there is a ski resort there so you will see some fake snow.
