Scenic Route Gainesville, Florida to Athens, Georgia

    Hey guys,

    Like the title states, I'll be driving from Gainesville, Florida to Athens, Georgia on Friday and was wanting to know if there are any particular roads I should take for a more scenic trip. I've been to Georgia before so I know that some of the roads are quite awe inspiring, so I just need some direction on where exactly to go, after all, why not make the 6.5 hour trip more exciting right...

    The trip according to Google Maps:

    It pretty much has me going up I-75 and then avoiding Atlanta to the right...

    Any input is appreciated

    30 minutes south of Atlanta

    Where are you getting off I-75? Hard to tell from the map, but looks to be around Forsyth. Forsyth is notorious speed trap out on 75. Po po will have several cars a couple miles apart. Just because you passed one car doesn't mean your out of the woods yet. The green blob NE of your exit is Oconee national forest. Nice ride through there.
