Cody(ipreferwater although he just changed his screen name so not sure what it is anymore) has a Mt. Hood on his 1st gen.

My dad has the Mt. Hood..its HUGE. Covers the entire 6' bed and really over kill for 2 people. The Bachelor/Shasta is big for two people.

Love my oversized tent. The 2 of us sleep very comfortable in it, honestly we could fit one more in it but 4 adults would be a crowd. I nearly touch end to end when sleeping with pillows in my tent.

Thanks Monte. I should be able to mount it with ease even with the mesh.

Well I'm hopeful that I'll meet another woman one day so I'm looking to sleep two adults plus one growing kid. So I'm not sure a two person tent would cut it.

Jesus how tall are you?? or are you sleeping in it width wise?

For a full sized kid then yea the Helens/Rainer would be better

    HOWEVER...

Allow me to pitch this too you..

Get the shasta..and it comes with the full sized annex for free..The annex alone can sleep 2-3 people in it. So..keep the kids down there and you and the miss's can have the upstairs

    like so..

    IMG_0985_zps3349dab9_faeb50d82edeeb0974f25e120cf8f10e76cd9d6b.jpg

My brother slept down in the Annex and Jess and i slept in the tent this last trip. Worked great.

yep. Have plenty of not so good welds. I believe that is one of the i have been up for 14 hours with no sleep welds :p haha Also was rushed that night..shouldn't have been welding really..or fabbing..Oh well..

Still better then Marks :p haha

A regular Johnny Carson, you are... eh?

The only problem is my bed rack is not that far off the ground. Wouldn't I need it to be higher up to make that annex more effective?

And does the annex have a floor?

Oh that's right..yea the lower the rack the more of a paint the annex is. But yes it has a floor.

Open the tent is 6x8. I'm 6'3" flat foot so laying out comfortably easily polishes the 7' and the pillow head space takes up the rest.

Thanks Marc, the scenic wide angle shots are my favorites as well.

    Thanks Man.

Sounds like you got answers to your questions tho I would add that the black cover's main purpose is to protect the tent from the elements. Weather is one but also tree branches on the trail and random bird strikes  on the highway too. It is made of a very sturdy polyurethane coated material. It could easily be 10-15% of the total weight on the tent.

Wow, a Johnny Carson reference. You are an FOG aren't you. :D

Monte would be Carnac the Magnificent, he knows the answers before the questions are asked.
