Interior is gorgeous, did they update the power train too or just the body style?

The interior reminds me of a F-150 interior for some reason.

I don't get what toyota is thinking these days. It's like they keep throwing new paint on an old house.
I was really anticipating a total redesign since the previous model did so well "cough". The full size truck buyers will see the new 2014 tundra as the same old truck released in what 2007? 07 may not seem that long ago but look at the competitors in the market. Redesign after redesign to try and compete with the current market. Toyota in the background, just hanging out with their prius, hoping things will go their way. That will not cut it in today's fullsize market.

They should have thrown some new engines in there other than the current 4.0 FJ/4runner engine. Direct injection, turbo, supercharged, nitrous, diesel, or whatever. Just something new with better mileage!

They needed to update their frame to a fully boxed frame. Those videos of the bed nearly coming off the truck, posted by Ford, really hurt that truck. Even their customers complain about excessive bed bounce. Maybe they have addressed this IDK but it sure looks like the same truck to me.

I do like some of the new designs. Some will have to grow on me but the interior is WAY BETTER than before. When sitting in the 12 tundra I couldn't see anything fancy or nice. Well anything to justify a 40K+ vehicle. It's like you get in it all excited, ready to go, and then you realize..... "this is it"?

Anyways, I now know I don't have to anticipate a Tacoma redesign anytime soon. It got it's update and I'm sure they will throw in that 4runner motor next year and call it the "all new Tacoma".

Far as I know they did not do anything to the power train except replace the basic V6 motor with the newer 4runner motor. Good job Toyota....:smack:
