The aFe Stage II Si intake is a smoking good price. You will note it similarity to the TRD intake. That is because aFe makes the TRD intake and filters. However, the aFe version is a little different and this results in better power and MPG.

You will note the small inlet on the bottom of the airfilter box. This small inlet allows more air to flow into the airfilter box. It also causes the air to spin around the filter inside of the box.

On the TRD version the air pretty much just hits one side. Those that have been running the TRD version for some time in dusty conditions may notice that most of the dirt is collected on one side of the filter. In the aFe version there is a distinctive swirl pattern all the way around the filter this results in better airflow into the filter for more power. I am told by aFe that it can be as much as a 5 HP difference.
