4.0L 6 speed clutch kits on SALE!!

URD has Tacoma 6 speed Clutch Kits on SALE!!

We have two to choose from:

Underdog Racing Development

The Stage II clutch, perfect for normally aspirated and mildly boost applications. Features upgraded pressure plate with increased clamping pressure and modified fulcrum point so the pedal pressure is not changed.

The clutch disc has a heavy duty sprung hub to prevent the hub failure problem of the stock clutch and a carbon/kevlar friction material for incrediable holding power and long life while maintaining stock drivabiltiy.

Underdog Racing Development

The Stage IV is for those high horse power applications that require extra holding power exceeding 500 HP and 500 TQ. This is the clutch we use in the URD XRunner with over 422 RWHP.

Features the upgraded pressure plate, and a puck style clutch disc with ceramic buttons.

Both are in stock ready for immediate shipment!!

whats the "Hub failure problem with the stock clutch" does it have to do with the release bearing cracking and tearing up the pilot shaft?

No, that is a different problem.

There have been a lot of stock clutch discs blowing apart. It seems they fail one of two ways. The hub rips loose from the outer portion of the clutch or the friction material rips loose. Either way you are dead in the water until you get a new clutch installed.

I try real hard to always keep clutches in stock. I get at least one or two calls a week from someone, somewhere that just had their OEM clutch blow apart and then need a new one shipped overnight to them to get back on the road.

These clutches are very tough. I have shipped a few sets to the US Navy to test out to see if it solves a problem they have been having with clutch failures. So far so good...
