Its quite simple actually..no need to rearrange braincells. Lemme break it down using simple numbers.
Rewind to january 2013. No money, going to school full-time, laid off from job (seasonal bike shop mechanic).
So i make a sweet soft top with minimal tools in my garage, put it up for sale in group buy form and get $10,000 in one week (again using even numbers). Now I use $5000 to order the steel needed to complete these orders, and $5,000 in new machinery to build the soft tops better and more efficiently.
Now with these new tools and machinery I also start up SevenSix at the same time, this way I am selling the real money making products to make the $5,000 back that I need for the second half the the Soft top group buy (canvas & shipping costs). So at the end of that group buy I am back at $0.
So we start gb #2 this time its $20,000 all in two weeks. So again $10,000 goes towards material for the soft tops, and $10,000 towards finding, leasing a shop and setting it up. Now I make the soft tops and SevenSix gets it first paid bike build making up the $10,000 needed to complete the soft tops (this time I went negative because of the seamark switch)
Keep in mind during gb #2 I was going to school full-time, working full time at the bike shop, building a new shop, cranking out 10 soft top orders, and building a motorcycle.
So now present day. SevenSix is fully operational, I have 3 bike paid bike builds and steadily selling my products.
And that is how Tacomaworld help build my dream shop/business. Some may call it genius, some may say it was stupid and risky. But it worked, and thats the reason why I was so bummed and disappeared for a little. Everything worked out so perfect, then one stupid injury could have made everything explode in my face. Guess you could say I was embarrassed.
