My friends and I sit on my tailgate all the time after fishing, so no worries there.

I'd still love to hear back on this. I just installed my softopper today. Much happier with it than the Bestop I returned. Looks like the velcro on the rear flap is even with the OEM plastic cap and hangs down about 1.25" (width of the velcro). I can get pictures or a more exact measurement if you need it.

I think a few rare earth magnets like these http://www.amazon.com/10-Neodymium-Magnets-Disc-Earth/dp/B000WB3I6A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410643798&sr=8-2&keywords=1%22+neodymium+magnet, maybe sewn into a strip with velcro on one side would be perfect.

Shipping to all the western states costs more than what I charge, but I don't want to charge any more.

If I charged what it actually costs, I wouldn't sell any out there.

I'll PM you with ordering info.

How does the cap account for the curve on the outside of the tailgate?

It doesn't account for the curve but it doesn't stick out very far either. It's really a non issue when you see it in person.
