I've had some different style antennas...
    AntennaX:
    S2000 Antenna (Not direct fit)
CravenSpeed antenna: worst reception of the 3, mainly aesthetically pleasing...

Currently I have a SciontC antenna... i like it the best because it looks factory and has the best reception of the S2K, antennaX, and cravenspeed

Looks nice.... but since I like antennas I'll pass on this one. My truck will soon have that porcupine look. 2 roof mount antennas, 1 or 2 on the front fender using NMO brackets, one square 2 meter SSB antenna on a new roof rack on the cap and a big motorized 80 through 6 meters High Sierra HS-1800 / Pro on the left rear corner.

Glad to hear the shortened antenna still picks up the radio stations ok. Antenna length is a matter of the frequency is designed for and a good ground plane is needed to. AM radio antennas should be several hundred feet long but of course thats inpossible on a vehicle.

Only time will tell I guess, but I snapped some pics for you since you'd inquired about bending.

I just installed mine last week and it's still straight. Does it bend after it's been on the truck awhile? Mine even stays straight at 80 mph.

I just installed Saturday and those pics were from my my first time on the interstate with it. After work I will be sure to notice if it straightened back up or not. Didn't think to check once I got here.

    stock, for now
i got a silver billet one, thats about 13" as well..Roughly the same price, yet wont bend. Radio stations suck around here, so theres no real difference in signal for me.

lol, i haven't actually seen one in person yet, and i don't meen to sound insulting, but the thicker part on the bottom wouldn't happen to slide down to cover the silver part would it?

also, do you remember how long it took yours to get to you once you ordered? i just ordered mine and am already pumped to get it :D

It will twist down, but then another piece shows above it. It's like 2 or 3 threads that need to go further up into the thick black piece that just will not go. I'm going to try fighting with it some more, and then just paint the silver that is showing black. BTW, not insulted, that would make sense in my mind as well.

i just zoomed in on the pic you have were you are going 60 mph, and compared it to the one on their site...it looks like at the mase of yours it curves out to the thick part on the bottom, but in the picture on their site, the tacoma one gets abruptly thicker....do you think they might have sent you the wrong one?

if mine fits in all of the way when it arrives, i'll post up some close-up pictures so oyu can see if it looks the same.

Idk, I'm pretty sure it's a universal antenna. It comes with 4 different silver pieces for different vehicles.

And a future thanks for the pics once you get yours, I appreciate it!

here comes another potentially insulting question, so i apologize in advance....but did you try the other pieces just in case they were mislabeled or something?

also, this may be bad for the antenna reception, so hopefully someone who knows more will jump in, but could you just use a hack saw and cut a few threads off so it will thread in further for a flush fit?
