I have a 1st Gen Tacoma DC. How much more will the Five Star stick out than the stock wheel? I don't have a lift yet but will be doing an OME. I'm running 265/75/16's now and may go to 285's, but I'm trying to get an idea how far past the fenders I'll be. I understand they are more aggressive but I have no idea on figuring it out. My truck is my daily driver with light off road use, so I'm debating these or the Countersteer Offroads. Thanks for the help.

Man it is tough to try to get shots of black wheels on sunny TX days.

Also I'm not sure I got the tires right...I think the 285s are a bit wide for my tastes, I might have to reevaluate. I dig the stance, but I think the tires are a bit more balloony than I anticipated. Maybe it will grow on me though! The wheels are exactly what I was looking for on the stance and aesthetics, not to mention the build quality! Shipping was fast, communication was perfect, would do it again!

Thank you for your interest in our wheels.

If you plan to install the 16x8" / -25mm offset (3.5" backspacing) Five Stars you'll be best off if you install the lift first or at the same time.

The 16x8" / -25mm offset fitment is pretty aggressive, and the wheels will stick out approximately 2" more than the original factory 16" wheels (which puts the wheels about .5" - 1" beyond the edge of the fender, depending on tire size).

If you install 265/75R16 tires on the 16x8" / -25mm offset Five Stars with your lift the fitment will be fairly easy. 285/75R16 tires will be a little more involved, and will probably require the pinch-weld modification for your 1st Gen Tacoma (not a particularly difficult modification).

The 16x8" / 0mm offset Konig Countersteer Offroads would be a more aggressive fitment than your original wheels (the wheels will stick out about 1.1" more than your stock wheels, putting them right about flush with the edge of the fender).

If you need any additional help sorting things out please feel free to contact me anytime:

    (951)735-1100 - office
(714)390-9387 - cell (call or text)
    FNWheels@gmail.com - e-mail

Thank you Justin! I think the tire size came out perfectly. Great photos too! I agree, it's really tricky to show the true matte black color in bright sunlight. I'm glad you like your 17" Five Stars, and it was a lot of fun talking with you while we developed the wheels from the inception through the time that you installed them on your truck. I've done that with a few other customers as well, and it's great to get feedback along the way and then to see everything come to fruition and make our customers happy.

iPhone pic, we can't all have the blinged out camera equipment like Andrew :) Ok, I do but I don't feel like washing the truck right now.

Thanks Dustin for everything! They turned out EXACTLY as I had hoped!

Looks good to me Isaac! You'd be surprised what you can do with a cell phone camera. I look forward to seeing more photos of your truck too! :)

I'm glad we found a wheel that fit the criteria for your build (light weight, good dimensions, good offset, proper color, etc.), and I'm glad you're happy! You're very welcome, and please let me know if I can help out with anything else. :)

:) I'm glad you like them! Yes, the wheels do come with caps. Early orders shipped before the caps were in stock (we are now shipping caps to everyone who ordered early), and any current orders will ship with the caps in the wheel boxes.

Specific TRD caps (available from your Toyota dealer or from me) are also compatible with our wheels.

    Thanks! :)

Thanks for helping out with your photos! :)

You are welcome! I am glad the wheels exceeded your expectations! Can't wait to see your setup in the spring! :)

I love it! Thank you for posting!

Thanks Bob! Your photography skills are awesome. You have to make a write-up for us on modifying the cap to fit the TRD cap. :)
