OK so I want to go with 265/70/17 Duratracs... They fit 7"-8.5" rims, my question is would they be ok on 17x9 inch rims?

Not sure. But if the specs on the tires say they fit 7"-8.5" wheel, then I'm going to say that they wouldn't fit right on a 9" wheel.

They will fit, they will just be a little stretch out.

It would be better if you could find the wheel you want in a 17x8. Also, if you plan on any off roading you might want to be careful of messing up the wheel and the bead coming loose which isn't very likely with light wheeling. Just something to keep in mind.

I have 265's on a 9 inch rim and they fit fine. They don't look stretched at all.
