Rebuilding TPMS???

Is it necessary that you get the TPMS rebuilt if you are getting new tires?

I just got new tires put on my Tacoma and purchased the rebuild kit. I changed rims and was required to buy the kit but it's not a bad idea even if it's not required. It's just new gaskets for a fresh seal and hopefully the avoidance of the TPMS system corroding and getting stuck. I think the kit only ran me like $7/wheel.
