Adding wheel spacers would increase the likelyhood of a rub with the stock wheels and 255's

Is a wheel spacer basically just adding more backspacing to the rim while also increasing the scrub radius that your wheel turns by whatever thickness the spacer is? is that why i would have more fender rubbing with wheel spacers?

Is the issue with the rim backspacing and camburg UCA's that the rim hits the uca? or why do they call for that backspacing?

OK. I need help. I am shopping for wheels for a truck I haven't even taken delivery of yet. But here's my question:
The factory TRD Sport wheels have an offset of +30mm (or about 1.2"), meaning that the mounting hub is 1.2" closer to the face of the wheel than centerline. Further, the wheel is 7.5" wide. Even further, the backspacing is 5.5". Sooooooooo, by my math, using an offset of 1.2", the mounting hub is 3.75"+1.2" from the rear of the wheel, or around 5". Backspacing is defined as the distance between the rear of the wheel and the mounting hub. So if it's 5.5", where did I go wrong?

I am asking because I am looking at new wheels. I will be going with 265/70-17s on 17x8.5" wheels, and the wheels I am considering have offsets of either +10 or -6. Don't know which I should go with. I don't want UCA issues, but I also don't want my wheels sticking out too far.

Plus the thickness of the wheel lip. Most of the formulas says plus .25 inches, which never adds up. It seems more like plus .5 inches always is closer.

Ok, someone help me figure out if these wheels will keep my tires out of the frame.

    Tires:

    315/70/17

    Current wheels:

    17" TRD Sport wheels
    1.25" spacers

So that's a 7.5" wide wheel with 5.5" of backspacing, correct? With the 1.25" spacer my backspacing is at 4.75".

My thinking is that I need to push the tire further out to keep it from coming in contact with the frame. The back of the tire hits the frame behind the LCA mount.

    Wheels I'm considering

    17x9, -38mm offset, 3.5" backspacing

So that's going to push the tire away from the frame another 1.25".

So, what am I not seeing here? Any other issues that might come up?

I'd like to run 33x12.50 on an (appx) 2" OME suspension lift. What size wheel do you guys recommend? I originally got some eagle alloys 15x10 with 3.75" backspacing and -46mm offset to hold my 32x10.50 tires, buy they are rubbing. Any input would be awesome!!

Hi folks. One of the posts above states that "hopefully this will cut down on the number of will it fit questions". Well, sorry, here's a "will it fit" question. Been looking around but can't determine. I know the bold pattern is fine so I'll add the other specs and see what you folks have to say.

My truck is a 2014 4 door Tacoma SR5. My tires are 245-75-16. I am looking at a used set of 16 inch rims off a 2002 Pathfinder. According to the web, the Center bore for my truck is 106.1, and the pathfinder is 110. Is that a concern?

His rims are 7X16 ET10 or ET0 (is that the offset?). Will that work? All that I'm sure of is that the bolt pattern is correct. Thanks for any help you folks can offer.

Your going to need to do some research and see if those pathfinder wheels can be used as lug centric, if so they should fit... granted the backspacing is 5-4.5 BS..

Thanks Ravic, I've moved the question to the 2nd generation forum where hopefully it will get more traffic. Again, thanks.

So confused on backspacing... I'm thinking of getting an rcd lift. I'd like to run 33x12.50's on a 17x9 procomp 7032 rim. It claims it has 4.75 bs. I don't know if this will fit or not. Please help. I've scrolled thru this thread and still disn't get an answer.

Depending on how aggresive the tires are, that's cutting it kind of close.

Does anyone know if 16x7 wheels with 4 5/8 back spacing on a 2nd Gen fit a 285x75 with out spacers?

I want to run 4Runner 3rd Gen six spoke wheels on my 2011 DCSB.

The wheels i like are the Eagle 023, 17x9, 4.75 BS and -5 offset. But tire shop says it will rub on stock UCA's coz of the -5 offset. Is this true? I have a 3" lift. Thanks for the help

    2" front spacers,1" add a leaf and 1 1/4 rear blocks.
Just checking on some specs on some wheels. I want to install 20"x10" rims with 33" tires on my 2014 tss . Want to make sure the fit. Don't know what off set the factory wheels are , I think they are 7.5 inch wide. I believe it is 4.75 back space but not sure. If I understand right anything with 4.75 bs or smaller should clear the uca.

K,talked to the dealer and they said 20x10 with -19 won't fit. Still unsure if I want 18" rims or 20" rims. I just want them to stick out maybe 1" to 2" from the fender. I am planning on getting bush wacker fender flares installed later. Also on getting 33'' tires installed. Plan on spending some money and want to make sure I get what I want and not something I was just sold. Thanks

Looking to fit 285/70/17's on 17x8.5 wheels with 4.75 backspacing until my lift parts (icon stage 3) arrive later this month, highway driving only until then. 2015 DCLB Sport 4x4.

Will i rub on stock suspension or should I wait until I'm lifted? I know I'll likely have to do some cutting at some point to clear 285's when fully stuffed, but I'm getting impatient staring at these wheels and tires unmounted in my garage. I'm ok with some rubbing in the meantime so long as it's not on anything that's going to instantly shred the tire.

Hey everyone, I have a 2007 regular cab with a 3" lift, 1 1/2" spacers on the front, 16x8 wheels, and 33x12.5 tires. Ive had the truck for about a year and a half and have replaced the wheel bearings multiple times (approximately 5xpassenger and 2xdriver side) so now im trying to get rid of the spacers which I was under the impression that new 16" wheels with a different offset would solve the problem of the wheel hitting the caliper without the spacers. It recently came to my attention that that wont work and I either need to go to 17s or that stock 16" toyota wheels clear the caliper for some odd reason. Does anyone have any advice on things that work, my main thing is getting rid of the spacers before I end up buying a stock in wheel bearings and not having to buy 17" wheels and all new tires.
