265 75/R16 tires require lift???

I know there's a bunch of info out there on tires and max stock size limitations, but on TW I read that someone had to cut off a bit of the inner black plastic of the wheel and tire fender to prevent rubbing with 265 75/R16 tires with a stock suspension....any ideas/experiences with this?

I'm looking to but Firestone Dest A/T tires at 265 75/R16 and want to keep everything else as is.

I just got Nitto Terra Grapplers in 265/75/16 put on my stock TRD suspension. Everything is fine on mine.

 

I have 265/75/16 duratracs with stock suspension. I didn't have to do any trimming. I still have my mudflaps on.

 

My 265 75 16 Hankook ATm's rub when turning hard over bumps. This is with a set of aftermarket wheels with some backspacing. Thinking about going down to 265 70 16 because it annoys me even though it isnt rubbing bad at all.

 

I have 265/75 16 and no problems with rubbing. I had the tires on both stock wheels and aftermarket wheels 16 inch with 4.5 bs and still no rub. No problems here you should be good to go.

 

I have a set of Destination AT's in 265/75/16 and they only rubbed when I was backing down my driveway and turning hard at the same time (my driveway is very steep). After a small lift they rubbed on the front of the wheel well, and I took my torch and heated up the black plastic lining of the wheel well and pushed it out about a 1/4 inch. Good to go. I love my tires and they look great on the truck. Since then I put a set of Ebaich springs up front and 5100's. I got about 1 5/8 inch lift.
