I'm going to 35"s as soon as I put on the lift on the Chevy 1500.

Whats the biggest width I can go on a stock TRD Sport rim? I have 285/70/17 Toyo AT tires on there now.

I'm looking at Hankook, Federal, Goodyear, and Nitto.

    A true 35" starts at a 305 width, right?

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
305s are usually 34" and even 315s arent always true 35s either. the 315/70/17 BFG at's were 34.4", IIRC and the 315/75/16 MT baja claws are 34.8"

A true 35 would probably actually be something like 35"x12.5"x17

Something like a 315/75/16 is only actually 34.6".

I guess its not the actual tire size that counts, its the tread that gets you those extra .00". I mean a 34.8" or 34.4" is close enough. I'm not too picky

.....So the rim size is a factor for a true 35" tire, just like with the tread?
