What tires for a 2wd Reg Cab?

Just looking for some reccomendations for tires for my reg cab tacoma is a 2008 2wd. The size is 215 70 r15. Wondering if I should get the firestone destination le which was the original equipment tire. Any help would be great thanks. I got about 44,000 on them and wondering if I can find a tire that will give me more or is that the best I can expect.

 

There are better tires out there to put on your truck. I haven't trusted Firestone since the Ford Exploder issue in the 90's. I'd put a set of Michelin LTX M/S2'S on there. You can put a 225/75/15 without any real rubbing issues. It will also be a slightly larger tire, and I will tell you from personal expirience (on my 2002 Taco reg cab sr5 that came with 205/75/15) that i got 125k off the tires. 44k is kinda weak for a tire on a relatively light truck. I'm completely dumb when it comes to tires. I just get what they offer me. Some questions

1. What bennefit will I be gaining by going with the larger tire?
2. Will it impact my gas milage negatively?
3. Does anyone know of anything negative about going bigger?

 

1. larger size means fills wheel well, looks better
2. it will affect your mileage, but at most 1mpg
3. the negative is the possibility of rubbing by going too big
