do u need to re gear if you put 285's

Hey guys I have a question if you havew a 3 inch mid travel setup and you wanna run 285\75\R16 will you have to re gear...or not...and if you do does anything know what gearing to use

 

I don't think you have to, I've been running those for about 3k now and I'm happy with it. I can notice a difference in power when I take off but it still drives great.

 

no you dont have to, its actually what alot of people run, the stock gears with 285's, i have that on my truck, if you go with a 35's then you will have to regear, a lot more of tire to rotate, hope this helps

 

Ok but doesn't re gearing give you a loss of power because your running a larger tire

 

But there is a difference between a 4.0 engine and a 3.4. I have 33s and I notice it in uphills.

 

On the first gen I'm not to sure, but I have stock gears with 35's on mine and I notice struggle some times.
