    Hey Everybody,

I am getting new wheels and tires in the upcoming weeks/months and am considering the following combination:
Ultra Wheel - Grinder - Gloss Black Finish
    [IMG]

I have never seen anyone here with this wheel, which I like and I am excited to get rid of my current chrome wheels.

I like the tire to stick out a little past the fender flare to give it a more aggressive look. What wheel specs should I go with in order to achieve this?

I am leaning towards getting General Grabber AT2s
    [IMG]
I am 99.9% on road, but need reliable tires for driving in snow/rain/ice. What would you recommended tire size be?

    What do you all think?

    FYI - My current setup:
    17'' Ion Alloy - Style 138
    BFG All-Terrain T/A 265/70/17
    Total Chaos UCAs
    Toytec Ultimate Lift Kit

You will want a wheel with at least 4.75 backspacing...4.5 backspacing would probably be ideal. What size tires do you want? If you want 285's I believe you will have to get the 4.5 BS to ensure the tires don't rub. I've read very good things about the grabber AT2. Looks like the BFG A/T, but for less $ and is better in snow etc. You might also look at the Goodyear Duratrac...lots of guys here run those. Look aggressive, are great in snow, and are quiet on the road. Hope this helps.

I was thinking 265/70/18? Do you think that will fit with my lift setup?

It's very close in size to a 285/70-17 which some people report as requiring some trimming. You might get lucky because it's not as wide a tire. You have a 3" lift, correct? If so you should ask yourself if you don't mind the possibility of trimming, and having to lose the front mudflaps. Does the tire come in a 285/65-18? It would look sweet if it was wider...

Unfortunately the General Grabber AT2 doesn't come in the 285/65-18.

I have about 3'' of lift (probably just over 3'') and would prefer to not trim. I will look tonight to see how much clearance i have in my current setup.

So it's the width that causes the rubbing and not the diameter?

It's both that will contribute to rubbing, especially with more backspacing on a new wheel. Look at the outer edge of the tire when you turn the steering wheel...if you have a new wheel that sticks out more then the arch is going to stick out more. If you don't want to trim at all I'd suggest a 265/65-18 or something along those lines. I have 2.6" of lift, and I'd love a 285 tire, but because I refuse to trim a 265/70-17 is what I will have to run. Play around with the tire calculator under the mods & tutorials section.

I checked last night and I would estimate that I have just under an inch of clearence between my tire and the front mud flap when the wheel turns.

Because of this, I would be uneasy about getting a larger tire that may cause me to have to cut.

How much space is gained by the mud flap being removed?
