No center caps OK?

    I did a search and didn't come up with anything other than for looks. I finally got some AR Mojaves on my '08 DC 4x4. I went with 17x8s with 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I can't stand how big the center caps look. If I take them off and paint my hubs am I going to be alright? There won't be any wheel bearing issues or anything from off roading or regular road grime thoughout the year? I knew with my Jeep Wrangler there wouldn't be, just want to make sure with my new Taco.

    BTW, the new wheels just barely rubbed the front mup flaps at full turn. I had to take them off but I guess I would have done that eventually anyway for looks.
