Tires, tires, tires

Like you haven't seem this title before! Anyway my 2nd gen has some 265/70/16's on it and I would like to keep about the same size with maybe a 17"-18" wheel. What size have you all noticed rubbing start to take place (w/o a lift)? Cause it looks like I have about 2" with these tires before it will come close and I plan on getting a lift for it but not right now if I can keep from it.

I know there is a thread about this already but if you all have some tires 265/70 or somewhere near that, lift/no lift post some pictures please.

You could probably get 265/75/17 tires on stock susp, but wouldn't think much bigger would fit up front without rubbing - more guys here will know for sure........mine was 265/65/17 factory, and I mounted 265/70/17 on mine ( stock susp ) with NO clearance issues........can hardly tell it's a different size profile, but my reason for this was to correct my speedo -- it was reading just a couple mph more than I was actually travelling........upped the profile to the 70's and problem solved.

 

So 17 did fit hmmm I wonder if 18's would clear

 

You can clear with 18"s but would just have to get a skinnier tire.

275/70/17 is the biggest I've heard without rub issues, and as far as 18's go, I believe I heard a 275/65/18.

 

I just put on a set of Kumo 245-75r16s. And they seem to handle the snow real well.

 

My last set of tires were 285/60/18's, they rubbed the front mud flaps at stock height, no more rub after mud flap removal.

My current tires are 275/65/18's and they still rub the front bumper in reverse with 5100's at 1.75".
