Nitrogen filled tires

Anybody have any pro's or con's on using nitrogen in tires for off roading. My 350z I use nitrogen to maintain a constant tire pressure which does not go up or down with different temperatures. Great for road and racing but not sure if there are any advantages for off roading.

most people lower their tire to around 10-15psi to off road but most people run around 35 normal so it would be a waste if you were going to be changing pressure a lot

So chris providing you are not airing down your tires is it still a waste on a 4x4 to use nitrogen, I use my truck as an everyday driver as well off road (not rock climbing or racing)

I think its a waste. If the tire isnt going on a race car, or an airplane, I dont see the benafits.

A car salesman tried to sell a lifetime warranty of that gimmick shit to me for the tires. I told him the air we where breathing at that second was 78%. I got up and left he chased after me. LOL. FUCKWADS!

What are you guys talking about, nitrogen filled tires are good for a gain of at least 5 HP due to decreased friction of the air on the inside of the tire...

Don't be fooled by their scheme to squeeze more money out of you..My bfg A/T were nitrogen filled..and the pressure was always changing..

Nitrogen does 2 things: (Supposedly)
1) its grows and shrinks less with temperature so it will help maintain tire pressure

and

2) Air molecules will actually migitate through the rubber of a tire over time, SUPPOSEDLY, Nitrogen migitates less through rubber.

To add:
The main reason nitrogen came into play in tires, is due to it being inert gas. In a crash, it wont promote a fire, and being "dry", Ice wont build up at high altitudes. Race teams use it so as to more accurately be able to predict how the tire will heat up, as again, no moisture in the N2, it expands, and contracts more predictably.
